The Health Awareness Committee of Medical Services Division of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) organized, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) a one day oral health campaign for The Glenelg School of Abu Dhabi (ADNOC).

The campaign was inaugurated by Mr. Mohammed S. Al Qubaisi, Human Resources and Administration Director at ADNOC and Chairman of the ADNOC Board of Trustees, in the presence of Dr. Abdelhadi Amir Al Ahbabi, SEHA Operations Manger and Dr. Aisha Al Shamsi, Manger of ADNOC Medical Services Division. ​​


The oral health campaign covered a number of activities, which included dental screening at the dental hygiene booths erected at the school and manned by dental specialists, orthodontists and oral hygiene specialist of ADNOC Medical Services Division.

The event also covered valuable medical instruction to raise awareness of oral health and interactive sessions with the dentists and specialists of oral health hygiene. Valuable medical instructions which stress the risk of dental caries and failure to visit the dentists regularly were presented to the students through simple poster presentations and famous cartoon charters. The ADNOC students also received advanced medial services through the state-of-the-art mobile clinics provided by SEHA.


On the remarks he made, Mr. Mohammed S. Al Qubaisi, ADNOC HR and Admin., Director and Chairman of the ADNOC Board of Trustees, said that the campaign comes within the context of ADNOC Group commitment and corporate responsibility towards the society. “The activities of the health campaign aim at raising health awareness among the society members especially students and their guardians to the importance of oral hygiene and necessity to take care of their mouth and teeth besides activation of the role of institutions of the society in supporting and implementing preventive program” he said. He hailed the ongoing cooperation between ADNOC and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) wishing success for the mobile clinics tours in UAE in working out an oral hygiene program for the children in all age groups. The dental mobile clinic of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) was on location to familiarize children with the clinic and the dental instruments.


On her part, Dr. Aisha Al Shamsi, ADNOC Medical Services Division Manager stated that the health campaign is part of the preventive role of the Medical Services staff. It comes within a comprehensive health awareness program organized with health services providers to raise awareness among all the society members with a number of diseases and practices. She added that the Division will organize a series of health awareness campaigns at the Western region pointing out that the health authorities accredit direct attention to this health awareness campaign on the grounds of the importance of oral hygiene for our community.


Meanwhile Dr. Abdelhadi Amir Al Ahbabi, SEHA Operations Manger welcomed the cooperation with ADNOC to raise awareness and disseminate the culture of prevention among the community on the importance of mouth and teeth hygiene. He stated that SEHA plans to implement health awareness programs in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Education Council, which in the first stage will target the primary school students in grade 1, 5 and 9.
